CANYON COUNTY RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN FINANCIAL REPORTING

Caldwell, ID — Canyon County has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the field of governmental accounting and financial reporting and is awarded to governments that demonstrate a strong commitment to transparency, accuracy, and full disclosure in communicating financial information to the public

According to GFOA, Canyon County’s report was reviewed by an impartial panel and judged to meet the program’s high standards, including clearly communicating the County’s financial story in a way that is accessible and useful to residents, stakeholders, and other users

“I’m proud of our controller, Kyle Wilmot, our auditing supervisor, Sarah Winslow, and our entire team for their commitment to implementing best practices in governmental accounting and finance,” said Clerk Rick Hogaboam. “Our team has worked hard to ensure high standards of transparency and professionalism in how public dollars are handled, and this recognition is a reflection of our commitment to that.”

The Government Finance Officers Association advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research to more than 25,000 members and the communities they serve across the United States and Canada.
