Indigent Services
CLERKIndigent Services carries out the mandates of Idaho Code Title 31, Chapters 34 & 35, by assisting residents with cremation expenses and oversight of the medical reimbursement accounts.
If your loved one has passed, assistance is available to help pay cremation expenses when no other resources are available. Cremation Assistance is available to Canyon County residents who meet the financial and residency criteria and when no other options are available per Idaho Code, Title 31, Chapter 34. The application for assistance and other information can be found on this website.

Families that have lost their loved ones unexpectedly due to crime may qualify for additional funeral benefits. These benefits are available through the State of Idaho, Crime Victims Compensation Program: https://crimevictimcomp.idaho.gov/
If you have received benefits from Canyon County Indigent Services, per Title 31, Chapters 34 & 35, and you are ordered to reimburse the County for the medical and non-medical expenses paid on your behalf, payment can be made using one of the following options. Liens will remain active until the County and the State Catastrophic Health Care Program are paid back.
