CANYON COUNTY ANNOUNCES SWEARING IN CEREMONY FOR THE NEWLY APPOINTED COUNTY CLERK

Caldwell, ID — On Monday, January 5, 2026, Canyon County will host a swearing-in ceremony for Jess Urresti, the newly appointed Canyon County Clerk. This historic appointment follows the election of current Clerk Rick Hogaboam as Mayor of the City of Nampa, with his mayoral term also beginning on January 5, 2026.

Jess Urresti was the top recommendation of the Canyon County Republican Central Committee (CCRCC). In a letter to the Board of County Commissioners, CCRCC Chair Chris Trakel stated, “The CCRCC overwhelmingly believes Mr. Urresti is the most qualified and best individual for the role of Canyon County Clerk.”

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Canyon County Administration Building, located at 111 N. 11th Avenue, Caldwell, Idaho, on the first floor in the Public Administration Room.
The ceremony is open to the public, and the County encourages community members to attend.
