George Nourse Gun Range Lane Closures for Improvements and Construction  January 15th, 2026

NAMPA, ID – Beginning Thursday, January 15th, 2026, Canyon County’s George Nourse Gun Range on Nash Road near Pickle’s Butte will have a select number of shooting lanes on the west end closed for improvements. While most lanes will remain open to the public, a closure will be in effect, which includes room for active construction, equipment staging, and a safety-zone buffer between recreational shooters and improvement activities and construction crews.

Construction duration will depend on progress, and an end date is TBD. Please check for updates regularly. Please be mindful and respectful of your surroundings.  Please stay clear of all construction activities and out of closed or restricted areas. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation while these improvements are underway.

For those who need alternative places to shoot during the closures and lane restrictions, Idaho Fish and Game provides several public shooting ranges (range-use fees may apply): visit https://idfg.idaho.gov/shoot to learn more. Gun range facilities in Idaho and across the country are also listed at https://www.wheretoshoot.org/, a directory of target shooting facilities.
