Motor Vehicle Title & Registration Office seeing shorter wait times during morning and afternoon hours | Canyon County

Canyon County Assessor Brian Stender announced today that the average wait time for customers at the Motor Vehicle Title and Registration side of the DMV has dramatically decreased during the morning and afternoon hours.

“It’s no secret that this past year hasn’t been kind to Idahoans who needed to access DMV services, with customer wait times often stretching several hours for a simple transaction,” said Stender. “But that is no longer the case in Canyon County. Our recent increase in staffing coupled with people’s ability to book online appointments has allowed us to reduce our wait times during certain portions of the day to 15 minutes, sometimes less.”

Customers who want to take advantage of the shorter wait times are encouraged to visit the DMV between 7:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Mid-week is the best time to visit the DMV as the wait times are typically longer on Mondays and Friday. If possible, walk-in customers should avoid the 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. timeframe as it remains one of the busier times with average wait times around one hour.

Customers are still urged to utilize the online appointment booking system available through the county’s website. Individuals looking to make some-day appointments are encouraged to check back after 10 a.m. in case additional appointment times become available.

The Canyon County Motor Vehicle Title and Registration Office is located at 6107 Graye Lane in Caldwell. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
