Project Overview:
The Canyon County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has initiated a phased approach to constructing a new women’s facility on the 26-acre Pond Lane property in Caldwell. Originally purchased in 2007 as a potential site for a new jail due to its centralized location and capacity for future expansion, the project was stalled after four failed bond measures, leaving the property vacant.

The County now aims to work with builders to develop a phased plan, with the first phase expected to accommodate up to 192 female beds. During the open house, staff will discuss the limitations of the old facility, discuss potential plans for the new development, and actively seek public input on the overall concept.
