The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Division is hosting a free boating safety course specifically targeted at waterfowl season hunters on Saturday, November 9, at the Canyon County Marine Patrol Office at Lake Lowell Park (12974 Iowa Ave. in Nampa). The one-day course will run from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CCSO Marine Patrol Sgt. Jason Roberts and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service representatives will teach attendees about basic boating safety and Idaho boating laws and regulations associated with owning and operating a boat. Each class will include a cold water emergency section and hunter-specific coverage followed by a question and answer period to clarify hunting laws.
Attendees who complete the one-day course will receive a NASBLA boat safety card that is recognized in all 50 states. Those interested can register for the course by completing the registration form below. A one-hour lunch break will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring lunch, snacks, and drinks.
