If you believe your property is eligible for an exemption, please pay close attention to the area of your assessment notice that resembles the following.
Homeowners Exemptions will be listed in the “Less Homeowner Exemption” line, all other exemptions will be in the “Less Market Adjustments” Line. If your parcel receives multiple exemptions they will be totaled and displayed in the “Less Market Adjustments” row.
If you own, occupy your home and apply for the Homeowner’s Exemption by the second Monday in July (July 8, 2026), your property will be eligible to receive the Homeowner’s Tax Relief Credit. If you filed your exemption and we have missed applying your Homeowner’s Exemption it is imperative you contact our office immediately.

Reviewing Property Tax Exemptions on Your Assessment Notice
This is a reminder to review the exemptions listed on your property assessment notice. Exemptions can help reduce your property tax bill.
Finding Your Exemptions:
- Look for a section titled “Exemptions” or something similar on your notice.
- Homeowner’s Exemption: This will be listed on a line labeled “Less Homeowner Exemption”.
- Other Exemptions: These will be grouped together on a line labeled “Less Market Adjustments”. If your property has multiple exemptions, the total amount will be shown here.
Homeowner’s Exemption and Tax Relief Credit:
- To qualify for the Homeowner’s Tax Relief Credit, you must own and occupy your home as your primary residence.
- Application Deadline: Apply for the Homeowner’s Exemption by the second Monday in July (July 8th, 2026) this year.
- Missing Exemption? If you applied for the exemption and it wasn’t applied, contact our office right away.
